About Cradle Mountain

With stunning scenery and amazing views, Cradle Mountain in St Clair National Park, Tasmania, is no doubt one of the most beautiful Australian landmarks and we recommend putting it on your list of places to see if you are visiting the southern parts of Australia.

The mountain rises to 1545 metres (5068 feet) above sea level and is considered to be a must see on one of the worlds best walking tracks, The Overland Track.

Cradle mountain, rises above the glacially formed Dove Lake and has 4 summits. The mountain is frequently climbed by tourists and can generally be accessed all year round. Hikers should be aware that the mountain is often exposed to bad weather that can arrive quickly at times.
